I would like to take this spot where I normally discuss power to mention what the details are of this raid. This is a super mega raid, which means that the Pokemon has shields that only MEGA POKEMON can break. Mega Raichu X and Y have 7 shields, specifically. Therefore, no matter what, you should bring a mega pokemon. This article does not show that very well, but does show the best options for damage when not able to break the shield. Our visual guide shows the best Megas, and I highly suggest taking a look at that. But, despite that, I would like to note that Mega Raichu Y will remain the strongest electric attacker in Pokemon Go for a while. Grab your notebooks, class is in session. Being a pure electric type, Mega Raichu Y is only weak to ground. However, Mega Raichu Y knows Surf, which will be super effective on ground types.
