🥊 Personalized Entei Counters

📊Entei Raid Infographic

Entei– Volcano Pokémon

Entei is weak to the following types: x1 Water, x1 Ground, x1 Rock Generally speaking, the best counters for it are:Kyogre, Rampardos and Rhyperior. Entei can be beaten by 2 players in optimal weather, with max friendship and perfect level 40 counters or by 3 unfriended players using level 20 counters from this guide. When caught, Entei will be between 1900 and 1984 cp without a weather boost. In Clear weather, Entei will be between 2375 and 2480 when caught.

Raid Meta – Fire Fang / Overheat + Flamethrower

Entei used to be among the best fire types, sitting as a tankier alternative to Moltres, with advantage in situations where Moltres’ Flying sub-typing harmed it. The most important one being Ice Pokemon with Ice Attacks. Now with Shadow Pokemon, Megas and Reshiram Entei is far less notable. Entei also has another major advantage, which is the moveset Flamethrower. While it has less raw power, being a 2 bar move allows it to be slightly more consistent and able to avoid wasting energy. That said, none of that means anything to Blast Burn Blaziken. Fighting Duel Typing doesn’t have any major downsides-and a couple upsides. Including an extra resistance to Bug and negating weakness to Rock.

PVP Meta – Fire Spin / Flame Charge + Iron Head + Overheat

Entei in raids aren’t Great League eligible generally, but he can be used in Ultra and Master. He was granted access to Flame Charge which is a fantastic bait move that powers up his damage. Iron head is coverage against Rock and Dragon Types but doesn’t help against Fire and Steel resistance. You can also opt to just be a nuke with Overheat, using Flame Charge to replenish your attack stat to nuke again. Does well against Registeel, Cresselia, and Articuno. His strongest showing is in Master League.
There are a couple classes of unique pokemon that are more difficult to use than others, they have been filtered out here to not clog up the counters too much. These pokemon are much more resource expensive than other options.
 • Mega Blastoise– Best in General simulations.
 • Shadow Swampert– Great in General simulations.
 • Shadow Tyranitar– Great in General simulations.
 • Shadow Gyarados– Great in General simulations.

Entei is a difficult duo,, even with Best Friend(❤️×4) bonus. If you don’t dodge, Flame Charge is the easiest, if you do, Flamethrower is.
If you need to increase your survivability, Parkia and Kyogre can tank a hit easy. If resources are no limitation, go with Mega Blastoise, it tops the performance in almost every area.
Down at Level 20, Mega Blastoise* and Shadow Tyranitar* can beat Entei in Partly Cloudy. If you want to avoid Shadow/Mega pokemon, Rampardos and Rhyperior can pull it off at level 30. Kinglier and Swampert* are water pokemon who can do it at level 30 too.
Here is a list of Pokemon that can perform similar or better than the typical #1 option (in this case, Rampardos) with weather bonuses:

Accessibility will be a bit tough if you are only starting now as Larvitars do not nest and are rare. They are also in 10k eggs. Tier 4 Tyranitar Raids were a staple for quite a while, however. Larvitar can be found in ‘Make 3 Excellent Throws in a Row’ Quests. The family was last in raid bosses during Water Festival in Sept 2019. Larvitar community day (the only time you could get Smack Down) was June 2018. It isn’t the highest raw DPS Dark-Type anymore, but it has a ton of bulk on top of near optimal DPS. Weavile and Honchkrow trade with it depending on the matchup. With Level 35 Tyranitar you need 3 players.
