Privacy Policy for Doduno Discord Bot

Last Updated: October 12, 2024

This Privacy Policy explains how the Doduno Discord Bot (the “Bot”) collects, uses, and protects information when you interact with its features. Doduno is designed to provide informational responses and simulation results about the mobile game Pokémon GO, including details on Pokémon, Raids, Max Battles, Rocket Grunts, Field Research, Eggs, Events, and calculating Showcase points.

1. Information Doduno Collects

Doduno operates exclusively using Discord Slash Commands (commands initiated with /). The Bot collects and stores the following types of information:

  • Command Usage Logs: The Bot logs metadata about every command you execute. This includes:
    • The slash command name used (e.g., /pokemon-go showcase, /pokemon-go simulator).
    • The Discord Username of the person who ran the command.
    • The Discord Server and Channel names where the command was executed, or if it was in a direct message.
    • The time and date of the command execution.
    • Any arguments or parameters provided with the command (e.g., the name of a Pokémon, specific values for a calculation, or Pokebattler User ID).
  • Timezone Setting: A record of the Discord Server ID linked to the timezone value (e.g., “Pacific/Auckland,” “UTC”) that a Server Administrator explicitly sets using the /set-timezone command.
  • Data Source Preference: A record of the Discord Server ID or Discord User ID linked to the preferred Data Source for command responses. This is explicitly set for Discord Servers by a Server Administrator, or for direct messages, by using the /set-pokemon-go-source command.
  • Non-Collected Information: Doduno cannot read, store, or log the content of any non-command messages in any Discord server it is in. It only processes the data specifically submitted through its registered slash commands.

2. How Doduno Uses and Shares Your Information

Doduno relies on external services to provide its information and simulation features.

A. Data Used for Internal Functionality

The Command Usage Logs (Discord username, server and channel names, arguments, time/date) are used solely for:

  • Functionality and Improvement: To analyze command usage, understand which features are popular, identify potential bugs, and make improvements to the Bot’s services and performance.
  • Operation and Troubleshooting: To ensure the proper and effective running of the Bot and to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Timezone Setting (Discord Server ID and timezone value)

  • Functionality: This data is used for the default timezone for command responses in a Discord Server when not provided as a parameter.

Data Source Preference (Discord Server ID or Discord User ID and Data Source)

  • Functionality: This data is used to decide which Data Source commands should choose from if there are multiple potential sources for a command response, like Pokebattler.com or Leekduck.com (via ScrapedDuck).

B. Data Sharing with External Services

Doduno obtains information from the following external sources, and in one case, shares specific user-provided information to execute its core function:

FeatureData SourceSharing of User DataInformation Shared
Raid and Max Battle Simulations and CountersPokebattler.com APIYESThe Bot sends the specific parameters required to run the simulation, which may include a Pokebattler User ID if the user provides it in the command arguments.
The Bot may send your Discord Username if no Pokebattler User ID is provided in a command where use of the Pokebattler Pokebox is requested.
General Pokémon GO Info (Raids, Rocket Grunts, Eggs, Events, etc.)Pokebattler.com static information,
Leekduck.com (via ScrapedDuck)
NOOnly publicly available, aggregated data is pulled from static web pages at Pokebattler.com and Leekduck.com. No Discord User or Server data is shared.

Important Note on Pokebattler.com: When you use a Doduno command that generates raid or Max Battle simulations or counters, the Bot sends the data you provided in the command, which may include your Pokebattler User ID or Discord Username, to the Pokebattler.com API. This is necessary to retrieve personalized simulation results (e.g., if you are using your Pokebattler Pokebox). Your use of these commands is subject to the Pokebattler.com Privacy Policy and Pokebattler.com Terms & Conditions.

3. Data Storage and Retention

  • Storage Location: Command usage logs are stored securely on servers maintained by the Bot’s developer.
  • Retention Period: Usage logs are generally retained for a period necessary for operational and analytical purposes, typically up to 12 months. After this period, the logs are permanently deleted.
  • Security: Reasonable security measures are in place to protect the data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

4. Third-Party Sharing and Disclosure

  • Doduno does not sell or trade your personally identifiable information (Discord Username, Server and Channel names).
  • Your data is shared with Pokebattler.com only when you explicitly use a simulation command that requires it. This data transfer is a functional requirement of the service you requested.
  • Aggregate, non-personally identifiable usage statistics may be shared publicly (e.g., “Most used command this month”) or with co-developers for analytical purposes.

5. Links to Other Sites

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

6. Your Consent

By adding Doduno to a Discord server and using its slash commands, you consent to this Privacy Policy and the collection, use, and transfer of your command usage metadata and parameters (including a user-provided Pokebattler User ID, if applicable) as described herein.

7. Policy Changes

The Doduno developer reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Bot’s official support server, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the Bot after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.

8. Contact Information

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or Doduno’s data practices, please contact the Bot’s developer through the Discord Support Channel: #bot-support on Pokebattler Raid Party Discord.
