Terrakion

Terrakion – The Cavern Pokémon

Terrakion is the second in a Legendary Trio ( +1 Mythical) of deer-esque Pokemon! They are a Gen 5 crew all themed around the members of the Three Musketeers. Terrakion is based off Porthos from the novel.  It’s Rock-Fighting typing is unique to it.

Terrakion is weak to : Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, Grass, Psychic, and Fairy Damage.

Generally speaking, the best counters for it are:
Mewtwo (legacy), Metagross (legacy), and Latios.

Terrakion can be beaten by 2 players in optimal weather, with max friendship and perfect level 40 counters or by 4 unfriended players using level 20 counters from this guide. When caught, Terrakion will be between 2026 and 2113 cp without a weather boost. In Partly Cloudy weather, Terrakion will be between 2533 and 2641 when caught.

Terrakion In the Meta

Raid Meta – Smack Down + Rock Slide

Terrakion is a fantastic Rock-Type attacker! Its fighting duel-typing grants it a resistance when used against Bugs but negates the usual resistance Rock-Types have against Flying.

It has lower raw DPS (Damage Per Second) compared to Rampardos, but significantly higher TDO (Total Damage Output). On the whole, they trade places back and forth as the best Rock-Type. Really it’s more comparable to Smack Down Tyranitar in its bulky utility, but with strictly better performance.

Notably, even against Ice-Types that are weak to Fighting, it’s Rock moveset is preferred.  It is not that useful as a Fighting-Type with it’s current move pool (performing worse than Pinsir).

Espeon evolves from Eevee. You can evolve any Eevee into an Espeon immediately if you use a ONE TIME naming trick by naming it “Sakura” and using the normal evolution. Otherwise, you need to set Eevee as your Buddy and walk it 10k and receive 2 candies. Evolve it while it is still your buddy, with the GPS active during the day. Eevee is also just a decently common Pokemon in general, with even increased spawns in Partly Cloudy weather which is fairly common.

If all else fails, you can acquire a shiny Eevee from the “Jump Start” Special Research quest part 4/6. Eevee is also a quest reward for the “Evolve a Pokemon” Field Research quests. “A Ripple in Time” Special Research also rewards a normal Eevee in both part 3 and part 4. Eevee was also featured in the Field Research Rewards. Future Sight used to be the superior moveset, but after Psychic got buffed it is now superior. This family hatches from 5K eggs.
